Mandarin Certificate Programs

Introduction

TOWA provides both online and in-person certificate courses. In addition to the Taiwan Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language (TOCFL) course, there is also a course for the Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) from China, allowing students to choose according to their needs. The courses include explanations of test-taking techniques and multiple simulated exams to familiarize students with the question types. In case of missed classes, online video makeup classes are available to ensure that learners achieve the best learning quality and outcomes.

▲ The "Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language (TOCFL)" is organized by National Taiwan Normal University. It aims to assess the Chinese proficiency of non-native Chinese speakers. Held regularly in Taiwan each year, the test covers listening, reading, speaking, and writing sections. Designed with reference to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), it aligns with international standards.

▲ The "Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi (HSK)" is conducted by Beijing Language and Culture University of the People's Republic of China. It aims to evaluate the Chinese proficiency of non-native Chinese speakers, focusing primarily on listening and reading. Writing is added after level three, and translation and oral tests are added after level seven. This test cannot be conducted in the Republic of China (Taiwan) or its allied countries.

《The Ultimate Guide to Chinese Vocabulary & TOCFL》series

Planned by the Mandarin Teaching Center at National Taiwan Normal University, the expansion of key vocabulary and preparation for the TOCFL (Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language) is carried out through practicing test questions to master the exam format. Detailed explanations of the questions aid in becoming familiar with the usage of vocabulary.

《Standard Course HSK》series

Developed jointly by Beijing Language and Culture University Press and Hanban International (CTI), the entire tutorial corresponds to six levels of the HSK (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi) exam. Each book covers HSK exam vocabulary and various language points, using actual HSK test questions as materials. With a natural and humorous style, friendly and familiar topics, and scientifically rigorous course design, the series seamlessly aligns with the content, format, and proficiency levels of the HSK exam. It serves as a comprehensive set of Chinese teaching materials that fully embodies the concept of integrating assessment and instruction, promoting learning through assessment, and enhancing teaching through assessment.
